Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ might pick up Galaxy A8s animation, gestures for punch-hole front-camera
Key Highlights Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ might feature an illuminated ring animation around the front camera The Galaxy S10+ might also feature reduced chin this time Both the phones are speculated to sport an Infinity-O Display The smartphone manufacturer is expected to announce its upcoming set of flagship phones before the Mobile World Congress 2019 but ahead of the unveiling, it seems like every information regarding the phones might end up being leaked online. The latest set of leaks regarding the Galaxy S10 and the S10+ reveal some new features that might be made available on the phones, along with the latter’s design elements. As per the tipster Ice universe, Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+ phones might feature special animations around the punch-hole on their display, which is apparently being borrowed from the Galaxy A8s. The Galaxy S10 smartphones will bring the company’s Galaxy-O display globally for users. As per the report, the in-display camera on the phones is said to feature an illuminated ring around it and could also employ gestures like swiping down from the punch-hole to launch the camera app. The illuminated ring animation might also be shown when using face recognition for unlocking the phone and there could be more animations when the phone is handling different tasks. It’s not known how the animation will be adapted for the cameras on the Galaxy S10 and the S10+ since they are reported to feature single and dual front-cameras respectively. Coming to the second leak, some images of the alleged screen protector of the Galaxy S10+ have surfaced online. The photos were initially posted on Weibo and suggest that the upcoming phone’s display might sport a highly reduced chin that is comparable to the chin on the iPhone X and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. While most phones feature a notched display, there is no reduction of the bottom bezels or the chin because the connectors on the panel are placed there. However, Apple got around it by sourcing OLED panels by Samsung that curve inward and it seems like the company might be using the same flexible panels on the S10 phones as well.
