Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air with 125-inch display and 8th-gen Intel chipset launched in China

Expanding its thin and light laptop portfolio, Xiaomi has launched the Mi Notebook Air with a 12.5-inch display and 8th-gen Intel processors in China. The USP of the phone is its weight, and the company says that the notebook weighs 1.07 Kg. In comparison, Apple’s Macbook Air is a little on the heavier side weighing 1.25 Kg. The Mi Notebook Air measures 292 x 202 x 12.9 mm, and will be available in gold and silver colours. The unveil comes a day after the company teased the launch in a Weibo post. In design terms, the latest Mi Notebook Air wears a similar design as its predecessors. The laptop comes with a full metal body design and is powered by the Intel M3 processor. This model packs 4GB of RAM and comes with an option of choosing from 128GB and 256GB storage. The Chinese tech giant has also launched another variant with better specifications. The high-end variant is powered by Intel i5 processor with 4GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The laptop has a Full HD 12.5-inch display offering a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 5.71mm thin bezels. Last year, Xiaomi launched the Mi Notebook Air in 12.5-inch and 13.3-inch variants. The latest models feature a full-size backlit keyboard and a multi-touch trackpad. When it comes to audio, the laptop features a dual-speaker setup tuned by Harman Kardon and they support DTS sound. Xiaomi claims that the laptop supports fast charging, and can juice up the device from 0 to 50 percent in 35 minutes. The notebook comes with a USB Type-C port, two USB Type-A ports, and a 3.5mm audio port, but it comes sans HDMI port. The pre-registrations are started in China and the sale will start from March 28. The notebooks-powered by the Intel M3 processors start at a price of CNY 3599 (approx Rs 37,000) for the with 128GB variant. The 256GB storage variant costs CNY 3999 (approx Rs 41,000).
