BSNLs new Rs 1,345 long-term prepaid plan credits 15GB daily data for one year

The telecom sector is a highly competitive space where we frequently keep seeing operators upping each other with new announcements. While Vodafone-idea has taken the number one spot in terms of subscriber count, Jio is following it with the second largest customer base. Airtel recently slipped from its second spot, in terms of subscriber numbers, to take the third place in the telecom race. The state-run telecom operator BSNL is also trying to get back into the top spot by announcing new recharge options to entice and add new customers. It has now announced a new data heavy plan for its users, which comes with a 365 day validity.

BSNL’s new data-heavy Special Tariff Voucher (STV) prepaid plan is priced at Rs 1,345 and is listed on the telecom operator’s Kerala website. Under the new prepaid option, a user’s account will be credited with 1.5GB data per day and the plan has a validity of 365 days. In addition to the daily data, there’s also a 10GB of extra data as reserve. However, the new long-term data plan is only available for BSNL users in Kerala circle and it is a promotional offer that can be availed till September 19, 2019. Do note that the new recharge option doesn’t come with free calling or SMS benefits.

BSNL is also gearing up to relaunch itself in the broadband space. The telco is preparing to launch three new plans on July 1, which are priced at Rs 349, Rs 399 and Rs 499. These packs will be available in all circles, except Andaman and Nicobar. The Rs 349 and Rs 399 plans are called ‘2GB BSNL CUL’ and  ‘2GB CUL’ respectively, and they both offers speed of up to 8Mbps till 2 GB data is consumed, beyond which the user get speeds of up to 1Mbps.

The Rs 499 pack is called ‘3GB CUL’ and it delivers 8 Mbps speed till 3GB data is used up and 1Mbps after that.
