Samsung Galaxy M30s to be launched in September: Report
Several months after launching the Galaxy M30 smartphone, Samsung appears to be poised to launch the Galaxy M30s. According to a recent report by IANS, Samsung will launch the Galaxy M30s next month at a starting price of around Rs 20,000. The Samsung Galaxy M30s is expected to come with a triple camera setup on its back panel, among other improvements to the original Galaxy M30. You can read our review of the Galaxy M30 here.
According to a recent report by India Today, the upcoming Galaxy M30s is expected to be powered by a new Exynos processor that has never been seen on an M-series Galaxy smartphone before. In addition, it is expected to have three cameras on its back panel, one of which could be a 48MP sensor from Sony. The Galaxy M30s is also said to be powered by “an industry-first battery”, although what that is has not yet been confirmed. Our guess is that there’s a bump in the battery capacity, as if the 5000mAh unit on the Galaxy M30 wasn’t big enough to begin with.
The Galaxy M30s could also support fast-charging, a technology many mid-range models of today feature. Like the Galaxy M30, the Galaxy M30s is expected to come in two variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. While the Galaxy M30 sold for a starting price of Rs 14,990 at the time of its launch, the upcoming Galaxy M30s could start at a price close to Rs 20,000. The increase in price can be attributed to the improvements and additions to the phone.
A few days ago, we reported that Samsung had launched the Galaxy A50s and Galaxy A30s with incremental camera upgrades. The Galaxy M30s launch is of a similar nature. “Smartphones are a vital part of people’s lives, connecting them, allowing them to share their experiences and engage with the world. The new Galaxy A50s and Galaxy A30s are the next step in delivering next-level performance to essential everyday features,” Yeonjeong Kim, Vice President and Head of Innovative Product Planning Group, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics had said in a statement at that time.
