Samsung Galaxy Note 10 rumour roundup: Everything you need to know
With just a few days to go for the Samsung Unpacked event in New York, almost everything about the Galaxy Note series is now known. Yes, this time it’s a series and not a single smartphone like every year, because Samsung will release a regular Note 10 variant, a Galaxy Note 10+ and another Galaxy Note 10+ 5G. What to expect from the three new smartphone, tailor made for power users? Here’s a roundup of all leaks and rumours about the devices —
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 designNoted leakster, Ice Universe, along with a few others posted hands-on images of the Galaxy Note 10+ and Galaxy Note 10. Both variant will sport a single punch-hole camera positioned at the center along with the expected curved AMOLED screen and a triple-lens camera on the back. A 360-degree view of the device also confirmed there won’t be a 3.5mm headphone jack which was further bolstered by another revelation that the phone will ship with the USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack. Apart from that, the Note 10 series could improve durability with IP69-rated water and dust resistance.
Furthermore, Winfuture.de gave a peek into the colour options we can expect from the Note 10 series, and here you might be a little disappointed. The Note 10 series is expected to come in Black, White and Silver colours along with a red and pink version. Unfortunately, no lavender purple colour has been leakd so far.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 displayThe 360-degree video leak also stated the Galaxy Note 10 will come with a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 1440x3040 resolution which could mean a smaller screen than the previous Galaxy Note 9. Another rumour placed the screen size at 6.66-inches which is more likely. The Galaxy Note 10 Plus will apparently come with a 6.8-inch screen.
More surprisingly, the Galaxy Note 10 (the regular variant) will reportedly be restricted to FHD+ resolution which could again mean a downgrade from before. As for the Galaxy Note 10 Plus, the resolution will remain at QHD+ with HDR10+ support.
The display sizes are at present highly confusing if you go by the leaks, with each leakster claiming different dimensions. This will only be confirmed once the phone has been launched.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 cameraThe Galaxy Note 10 Plus will reportedly come with a quad-camera setup while the smaller variant will have a triple camera setup. Leaked renders have confirmed the quad-camera design. The cameras are also vertically aligned this time, instead of the horizontal setup in the previous Note series. The hardware is apparently same as the Galaxy Note 9 along with an added ToF camera in the Plus variant.
Based on leaks, the Galaxy Note 10’s camera stack will come with a 12MP primary camera with dual aperture that can go till f/1.5 along with a 12MP telephoto lens and a 16MP ultra-wide camera.
Another leakster has suggested that the Note 10 will allow users to choose between f/1.5, f/1.8 and f/2.4 in the primary lens allowing for more versatality during shots.
Furthermore, trademarks for a term called ‘smart ISO’ and ‘AI ISO’ has also been spotted suggesting the camera can intelligently adjust the ISO sensitivity based on what you’re shooting.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 hardwareThe Galaxy Note 10 will stick to the Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC in the US and the Exynos 9825 in other market. The later is a new chipset that Samsung could likely debut with the Galaxy Note 10, a departure from previous iteration where Samsung has reused the same processor it used in the S-series. That could be wrong since no such chipset has been known to be under work and we could just end up with the Exynos 9820 like in the Galaxy S10 series.
Apart from this, the Galaxy Note 10 is likely to come with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB UFS 3.0 storage (only in the Note 10 Plus). As for the battery, at least on of the variants of the Galaxy Note 10 could come with a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging, which some leaks going up to 45W fast charging.
