OnePlus 8 early renders surface ahead of OnePlus 7T launch hinting at punch-hole display, curved screen and more

Like most smartphone manufacturers, OnePlus has been announcing multiple new phones in a year. This year it’s the OnePlus 7 and 7T series of handsets and as one would’ve guessed, we expect the OnePlus 8 series of phones to be announced early next year. While the company recently launched the OnePlus 7T and is expected to announce the OnePlus 7T Pro on October 10, leaked renders of the OnePlus 8 have surfaced online. These super-early renders of the handset are apparently based on detailed schematics disclosed by a company insider, which was obtained by @OnLeaks and was released in collaboration with Cashkaro.

As per the renders, OnePlus might be carrying forward the design it used on the OnePlus 7, but with some notable differences. Unlike the circular camera on the OnePlus 7T, the OnePlus 8 is seen with three vertically stacked rear cameras on the rear. On the front is where most of the cosmetic changes are done as the device sports a punch hole camera on the upper left corner of the display. In contrast, the OnePlus 7 features a waterdrop notch display design while the OnePlus 7 Pro gets a pop-up front camera module. The display of the OnePlus 8 is said to be about 6.5-inch in size and it’s shown to curve along the edges, which is a design quite similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S10 and S10+ handsets.

Alongside the display, design and placement of rear camera module, the report, citing its source, says that OnePlus could finally bring wireless charging on the OnePlus 8. However, there’s no additional info whether it will be fast wireless charging like Huawei's new 27W inductive charging that it debuted with the Mate 30 phones. The OnePlus 8 is said to measure about 160.2 x 72.9 x 8.1mm. Also, note that the leak is all about the OnePlus 8 and not a pro version, which means that the company might be planning to incorporate a pop-up camera in all its forthcoming pro variants. We suggest you take this info with a pinch of salt since it this is an early leak.
