Motorola Razr 2019 leaked images invoke nostalgia with a clamshell design
It’s not surprising to see that the smartphone market is reaching a saturation point. The shipment numbers have been falling for some quarters now and there’s a dire need of innovation to rejuvenate the segment. The concept of foldable smartphones isn’t new and companies like Samsung and Huawei have come up with their own versions of foldable phones. Motorola also admitted that it is working on a foldable phone and it is rumoured to resemble the iconic Moto Razr, at least in terms of design. Now, the noted tipster Evan Blass has leaked some renders of the upcoming handset ahead of the expected November 13 launch.
Leaked renders of the handset hint at a clamshell design for Motorola’s folding phone. When closed, there’s a small touch screen on top and below is a notable bottom panel that houses a button that might double as a fingerprint sensor. There’s also an image of the phone when its completely unfolded and it shows off the device’s hinge and a tall inner display. There’s a regular square-shaped notch on the device’s display. If the leaked images are to be believed, the upcoming foldable smartphone by Motorola does resemble the original Razr V3 from 2004.
While there aren’t any specs of the phone listed with this leak, a previous report suggests that the handset might come with a 6.2-inch OLED main display. The display on the outside might have a 600x800px resolution and the whole package could be powered by the Snapdragon 710. Equipped with 4/6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, the handset might sport a 2730 mAh battery. It is rumoured to be priced around $1,500 (Rs 1,06,275 approx) but nothing is official until the company announces it.
