Reliance Jio Vs Airtel Vs Vodafone: Updated prepaid plans compared
The telecom industry is in a bit of a pickle as most of the major telecom players are in debt and struggling to generate revenue amidst the cutthroat competition. In order to not lose their footing in the market, the telcos have announced that they are increasing their tariff prices. Vodafone-Idea and Airtel have already unveiled their new prices and Reliance Jio has also introduced its new prepaid plan options. So, it’s high time to compare the offerings from all three telcos to get a better idea of where one can find the best-unlimited recharge options that suits their needs.
Prepaid plans under Rs 300Starting with Reliance Jio, the telecom operator has three plans under this price range, both of which offer 1000 minutes of IUC free calling. The Rs 199 recharge plan by Jio comes with 1.5GB data per day, along with 100 daily free SMS's. There’s also the Rs 249 prepaid option that credits 2GB high-speed daily data, along with 100 free SMS per day. Both the recharge options by Jio come with a 28-day validity. There’s also a Rs 129 prepaid option that credits 2GB data and 1000 call minutes for 28 days.
Airtel offers three recharge options in this price range, starting with the Rs 148 prepaid plan, which credits a total of 2GB data for 28 days, along with 1000 minutes of FUP on calling and 100 daily SMS. Next up are the Rs 248 and Rs 298 prepaid options that credit 1.5GB and 2GB of data per day, along with the same 1000 minutes of FUP on calling and 100 SMS per day. These two plans come with a 28-day validity.
Vodafone has listed three plans in this price range. The Rs 149 prepaid plan credits 2GB data with 300SMS, while there’s another option priced at Rs 249 that comes with 1.5GB data and 100 SMS per day. Another pack priced at Rs 299 credits 2GB daily data and 100SMS per day. Do note that these three Vodafone plans come with 1000 FUP minutes and are valid for 28 days.
Prepaid plans under Rs 500Jio has four prepaid options in this price range with the first one priced at Rs 349. The plan credits 3GB daily data, along with 1000 call minutes, 100 daily SMS and is valid for 28 days. Then, there's Rs 399 and Rs 444 recharge plans that come with 1.5GB and 2GB of data per day, credit 2000 call minutes and have a validity of 56 days. Finally, there's Rs 329 plan that comes with 6GB data for 84 days, along with 3000 call minutes.
In this segment, Airtel has no prepaid plans but Vodafone has two options to choose from. Vodafone has a prepaid plan priced at Rs 399 that credits 3GB daily data, 1000 call minutes and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. There’s also another option priced at Rs 379 that comes with 84 days of validity and offers 6GB data at once, along with 3000 call minutes, and 1000 SMS.
Prepaid plans under Rs 700Jio has two plans in this price range, both of which have an 84 day validity and come with 3000 free call minutes. The Rs 555 plan comes with 1.5GB daily data, while the Rs 599 option will credit 2GB data data per day. Both the options get 100 free daily SMS options.
Airtel has two plans in this segment, which are priced at Rs 598 and Rs 698. Both the plans offer 3000 call minutes and come with an 84 day validity. The Rs 598 plan credits 1.5GB data per day, while one will get 2GB daily high speed data with Rs 698 prepaid option.
Coming to Vodafone, the telecom operator has two plans in this price segment and the two come with 3000 call minutes, 100 SMS per day and an 84 day validity. The Rs 599 prepaid option credits 1.5GB data per day while the Rs 699 option comes with 2GB daily high speed data.
Prepaid plans over Rs 1,000All telecom operators have come up with some new long-term recharge options. Jio users can go for the Rs 2,199 prepaid recharge that has a 365 day validity and credits 1.5GB per day in your account, along with 12000 call minutes. There’s also the Rs 1,299 plan that comes with 24GB data and 12,000 call minutes for 365 days.
Airtel has two plans in this segment that feature a 365 day validity. Priced at Rs 1,498 and Rs 2,398, the plans come with 24GB and 1.5GB daily data respectively. They both offer 12000 minutes for calling users on rival network and offer 3600 and 100 daily SMS respectively.
Vodafone also has two plans in this range that cost Rs 1,499 and Rs 2,399, and come with a 365 day validity. The Rs 1,499 prepaid option comes with 24GB of high speed data, 3600 SMS and 12000 call minutes. The Rs 2,399 plan offers 12000 minutes, 1.5GB per day and 100 daily SMS.
