Realme 5 Pro gets Rs 1,000 price cut, now starts at Rs 12,999

If you have been quietly eyeing the Realme 5 Pro but haven't hit the ‘Add to Cart’ button yet, you’ll be glad to know that Realme has slashed the price of the handset by Rs 1,000. The Realme 5 Pro now starts at Rs 12,999 for the base variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and goes all the way up to Rs 15,999 for the top-end variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The mid variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage in between costs Rs 13,999. You can get the Realme 5 Pro at the new discounted price on Flipkart and Realme.com.

The Realme 5 Pro is available in two colour options: Sparkling Blue and Crystal Green. Luckily, both are available at the same discounted price. Nokia, on the other hand, tends to charge more for some of its special colourways. For example, the Cyan Green option on the similarly priced Nokia 7.2 was costlier than the Charcoal option during Nokia’s Christmastime price cut. Earlier this week, the price of the Nokia 7.2 was slashed further, to Rs 14,872. You can read more about that here.

Realme launched the Realme 5 Pro in India in early September 2019 at a starting price of Rs 13,999. Since then, the handset has been receiving software updates regularly. One of the most significant updates came a couple of months ago with the latest November 2019 security patch. It also enabled the Realme 5 Pro to take brighter selfies in low-light settings through the new Nightscape mode. In addition, it fixed a lot of issues on the Realme 5 Pro’s Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS software. You can read more about that here.

The Realme 5 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chip. Its screen measures 6.3 inches and has a maximum resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The back panel of the handset is home to a quad camera setup. There’s a primary wide-angle 48MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor with the same f/2.4 aperture. On the front, there’s a single 16MP wide-angle camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
