Redmi Note 9 Pro Max first sale in India postponed due to Coronavirus lockdown
Redmi announced the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max alongside the Redmi Note 9 Pro on March 12. The devices were launched at an online-only event. The smartphones come with the same display, colour options and more. While the Note 9 Pro went on sale recently, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max sale in India was to take place on March 25. However, as per the latest development, it has been postponed due to the current circumstances with the Coronavirus lockdown.
Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain took to Twitter to confirm the latest development. However, he didn't reveal the exact date on which the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max will now go on sale. Further, the Redmi Note 9 Pro sale will still happen as scheduled. The phone will go on sale today at 12 noon IST via Amazon India, Redmi India's official site, Mi Home, and Mi Studio Stores.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max price in India starts at Rs 14,999 for the 6GB + 64GB storage variant, whereas its 6GB + 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 16,999. Further, the 8GB + 128GB storage option carries a price tag of Rs 18,999.
The handset features a 6.67-inch punch-hole display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the camera array, back, and front. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset. On the optics front, it sports a quad rear camera setup: a 64MP primary lens + an 8MP Ultra-wide-angle lens with a 119-degree field of view + a 5MP macro with a focal distance of 2cm + a 2MP depth. On the front lies a 32MP selfie shooter.
It packs a 5020mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. Further, it has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also comes with 2x2 MIMO WiFi for battery latency and coverage and NavIC chip.
