Disney+ Marvel Studios Phase 4 TV shows could still premiere in 2020
Disney has completely shut production on most of its live-action TV shows and feature films due to the ongoing health crisis which led to a huge reshuffle in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 slate. While Marvel Studios announced new release dates for films like Black Widow and The Eternals, the new Disney+ shows set to premiere in 2020 could still be on track to meet the release dates.
That’s according to a press release issued by Disney+ France, first reported by MCUCosmic, that lists The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision to premiere sometime in 2020. This will be followed by Loki and What If… ? in 2021 and Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Knight in 2022.
Variety had earlier reported that Marvel Studios shut production on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and WandaVision due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the first MCU Phase 4 TV Show that’s scheduled to premiere sometime in August 2020 followed by WandaVision in December. With production coming to a standstill, it's not currently known if we will be able to see either of them making a debut in time.
Having said that, the Disney+ France press release surely instils hope for two of the most awaited TV shows to release in due course this year.
Marvel Studios Phase 4 feature film slate has been delayed with Black Widow now set for release on November 6. It was earlier slated for a May 1 premiere followed by the debut of The Eternals. It will now release on February 12, 2021. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings now premiere on May 7, 2021, while Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theatres on November 5, 2021.
