Xiaomi has been making good progress when it comes to rolling-out MIUI Beta ROMs for its devices. The company has revealed the roll-out schedule of MIUI 10. The company’s popular custom user interface comes in two variants: MIUI 10 China and MIUI 10 Global. The China ROM is intended for Chinese users, whereas the Global Beta ROM is intended for a global audience and comes with Google Play  services integration. Xiaomi phones that are sold internationally ship with MIUI Global Stable ROM.

MIUI 10 China was announced at the Xiaomi Mi 8 event in May, while MIUI 10 Global was announced at the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 event in India.

Last week, Xiaomi rolled out MIUI 10 Global Beta 8.7.5 for eight Xiaomi devices. The Global Beta ROM has a weekly update schedule, and therefore, Xiaomi has released this week’s update. MIUI 10 Global Beta 8.7.12 ROM is now available for 21 Xiaomi devices, which are noted as follows:

• Xiaomi Mi Max Prime
• Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus

The instructions to upgrade to MIUI 10 Global Beta are:

• Backup your data before upgrading to MIUI 10.
• Users running MIUI 7 / MIUI 8 / MIUI 9 stable ROM will need to upgrade to MIUI 10 via fastboot method (which requires an unlocked bootloader).
• Users running MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM can head to the Updater app and check for updates.
• The Global Beta ROMs can be flashed either via fastboot or recovery. Installation instructions via recovery can be read here.
